During the 2nd tutorial session this week, we were asked to recreate a whole page from scratch using InDesign. The photo above shows the one I recreated alongside the original piece.
One of the most difficult things I experienced while recreating the page was the positioning. I had decided to use the grids to align most of the components to make them look neater. This is especially helpful in doing the sidebar of the page, where everything is of the same width and aligned to the same column. Another difficulty faced was finding the specific fonts used on the original page, but I managed to scrape through with the fonts I found most similar to the original ones. I really like how InDesign (as well as other Adobe softwares) lets you drag out lines from the rulers to be used as guides for you to position everything way more easily. I'll definitely be using that to my advantage for our InDesign group project!
