Second lesson of the week: modular grids and modular grids!
We learned that in newsletters, the components of each page are always following a type of grid. We were taught the definitions of different terms pertaining to editorial grids. This includes columns, flowlines, modules, markers, spatial zones, margins, headers and footers. These terms are commonly used by graphic designers or editorial designers so that they can get an idea of what exactly their clients want. A modular grid follows columns and rows to position the content whereas a column grid splits the page into columns, which is followed by the text content.
