Today, we started on the first Adobe InDesign tutorial. Newsletters! We had three hours to re-create a newsletter on design but since I ended up finishing it before three hours and had extra time, I decided to play around with InDesign, which resulted in the spread above. I am very anal about the justification of words and organisation of the things I see, especially on multimedia platforms (this is one of the main reasons why every single song I have on iTunes is paired with album art), so I naturally have the desire to make all the components on any graphic align and standardised.
This is what I love most about InDesign; there are rulers which you can drag out to set as guidelines. This really helped in making the borders equal in size for the two different pages. Another thing I love is the 'Fill With Placeholder Text' option, which you select to fill a text box with random text. Something like Lorem Ipsum, in my opinion - except it's not Lorem Ipsum. The placeholder text just consists of filler words which look like actual words.
I honestly can't wait to continue learning more InDesign tools....it has been really fun so far :)
